The Nopali application allows you to create patient charts either by importing vCards or by importing information from a tab-delimited file.
You can easily create new charts using vCards that are generated from Address Book or other contact managers. In order to create one from Address Book, you simply drag and drop from a selection of contacts from Address Book (or a vCard file) into the Search Results Table in the Nopali Search Drawer:

Nopali includes a Patient Import Panel that will allow you to import patient contact information from a tab-delimited file. Most database programs allow you to 'export' data in this format, and this would allow you to easily transfer your data from another database system.
You must first have your data in tab-delimited format. Any other format is not accepted. If your data file is in another format, you can use a spreadsheet program to convert it to tab-delimited format.
Once you have your data file in the proper format, you must do a couple of other things to 'massage' some of the data types into an acceptable format. The important data types to 'massage' include:
Once your data file is properly formatted, you can then import the data into Nopali by selecting the 'Data>Import Patient Charts From Tab-Delimited Text File' menu item at the top of the screen. A panel will come down:

Press the 'Select Tab-Delimited File' button to select your data file. The lower table will become populated with data and each table column will have a pop up button for a header:

You should press on each table header to determine which data type the column should be mapped to. You can also edit the data directly in the table by single-clicking on any cell in the table.
Once you are happy with the import mapping and the data consistency, press the 'Accept' button at the bottom of the panel to import the data.
